The honest answer, including the part most people asking this question do not expect.
You cannot buy a trade test certificate. At any price.
The certificate is not a product. It is the record of an examination you sat and passed. If somebody quotes you a figure for the certificate itself, with no mention of a test, they are selling you a forgery and you will find out at the worst possible moment.
What you actually pay for is one of two things. Either the examination on its own, or training plus the examination together.
The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment does not publish a single national fee for trade test examinations. As of September 2026 we are not aware of an official price list you can look up.
What we can tell you from how the system works in practice:
Various websites quote figures for the government fee. We are not going to repeat a number we cannot verify, because you would plan around it and then find it wrong when you arrive. Ask the centre you intend to test at, and ask for a receipt.
Most people asking about cost are not only paying for the examination. They need the training that gets them ready for it.
At ServHub the fee covers everything from the first day of training to the certificate in your hand:
Single payment. Included in that figure: training, materials and consumables, the certification fee, the internationally formatted documentation package, and lifetime alumni access. There is nothing extra to pay at any stage.
We publish this because most centres do not, and because a price you cannot find before you visit is usually a price that changes once you are standing there.
A centre quoting a lower training fee is not necessarily cheaper. Ask what sits on top of it.
That last one catches people regularly. A centre that trains but does not examine sends you somewhere else to be assessed, and the cost and the journey are yours.
ServHub Training is accredited by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment to conduct trade test examinations, and we examine on site. You train here and you test here.
💬 Ask About CostIt happens, and the price is usually attractive. Walk away.
A document that was never issued against an examination will not be in the Ministry records. It can look correct. It can carry a seal. It will pass a casual glance from an employer who does not check.
Then one day somebody does check. A contractor verifying artisans for a bid. A recruitment agency assembling documents. A foreign authority reviewing an application. At that point the document is worthless, the money is gone, and the years you spent working in the trade still have nothing behind them.
If you already hold a certificate and want to know whether it is genuine, read how to verify a trade test certificate. It costs nothing but time.
Put plainly, the fee buys you three things.
A certificate opens doors. It does not guarantee a job and it does not guarantee a visa. Anybody telling you otherwise is selling you something, and usually charging extra for it.
The certificate itself is not sold. You pay to sit an examination, and usually for the training that prepares you for it. The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment does not publish a single national fee, and cost varies by trade, grade and centre. At ServHub, training and certification together are N90,000 for the Foundation programme and N120,000 for the Advanced programme, with nothing extra to pay.
No. A document issued without an examination will not be in the Ministry records and will fail verification. Anybody offering this is selling a forgery.
There is a fee for the examination, but we are not aware of a published national price list. It varies by trade category, by grade and by centre. Ask the centre you intend to test at, and ask for a receipt.
At ServHub, yes. It is not included everywhere, so ask before you pay. Also ask whether materials are included and whether the examination is sat at the same centre or somewhere you must travel to.
Higher grades involve more assessment, so examination costs generally rise with the grade. Our programme fee does not change by grade. Which grade you sit depends on your trade and your experience.
