Roadside mechanics fix cars by memory and by feel. That worked when cars were simple. Modern vehicles are full of sensors and control units, and the mechanic who can read a fault code earns several times what the one who cannot earns.

Automobile mechanics is one of the Ministry trade categories, and the federal trade test curriculum for automotive work was developed with the National Automotive Council. A certified mechanic can bid for fleet and contract servicing that uncertified ones cannot.
Certificates are issued at one of three grades:
Which one you sit depends on your trade and how long you have worked in it. Tell us and we will assess it honestly, including if the answer is a lower grade than you hoped.
Single payment. Materials, the certification fee, the international documentation package and lifetime alumni access are all included. No extras at any stage.
Our centre is at 127 Igwuruta Road, Atali, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Walk in any weekday between 9am and 4pm. No appointment. Bring somebody with you if you want, and see the workshop before you pay anybody anything.
