Every estate, shop and office in Nigeria wants cameras, and most installations are done badly. Cameras pointed at nothing useful, recorders nobody can access, cabling that fails in the first rains.

Doing it properly is not difficult. It is just rarely taught.

What you will learn

Camera types, analogue and IP, and which suits which job
Site survey and camera placement that covers what matters
DVR and NVR setup, storage sizing and retention
Cabling, power over Ethernet and power supply
Basic networking, IP addressing and port configuration
Remote viewing on phone and computer, set up so the client can use it
Satellite dish installation and alignment
Maintenance, weatherproofing and fault finding

Who this is for

Electricians adding security systems to their range
People starting a trade that mixes hands on and technical work
Installers who can mount a camera but cannot configure a recorder
Anyone wanting estate and business maintenance contracts

Certification

ServHub Training is accredited by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment to conduct trade test examinations, and we examine on site. You train here and you test here.

In the Ministry trade categories this course sits under Electrical Installation. That is the category your certificate will name.

CCTV and satellite installation is a recognised trade area under the national skills framework and is usually examined under electrical installation. Ask us which category applies before you enrol.

Certificates are issued at one of three grades:

Grade III, the entry level, for people starting out or newly trained
Grade II, intermediate, for people with working experience behind them
Grade I, advanced, for experienced tradesmen

Which one you sit depends on your trade and how long you have worked in it. Tell us and we will assess it honestly, including if the answer is a lower grade than you hoped.

Before you pay anyone

Whether it is us or another centre, ask these:

Are you accredited by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, and can I verify that with the Ministry directly
Which grade will I be sitting, and why that one
Is the certification fee included
Can I see the workshop first
What is your company registration number
