Almost every new building in Nigeria gets a POP ceiling, and the work is priced by the square metre with materials that cost very little. It is one of the fastest trades to make money in once you can work cleanly.

The skill is in the setting out and the finishing. Anybody can mix plaster.

Certification

ServHub Training is accredited by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment to conduct trade test examinations, and we examine on site. You train here and you test here.

In the Ministry trade categories this course sits under Painting and Decorating. That is the category your certificate will name.

POP and ceiling work falls under the finishing trade categories. Ask us which category applies to the work you intend to do.

Certificates are issued at one of three grades:

Grade III, the entry level, for people starting out or newly trained
Grade II, intermediate, for people with working experience behind them
Grade I, advanced, for experienced tradesmen

Which one you sit depends on your trade and how long you have worked in it. Tell us and we will assess it honestly, including if the answer is a lower grade than you hoped.

Programmes and cost

Foundation, N90,000, 90 days, for people starting with no formal training. Around 60 per cent of our students start from zero.
Advanced, N120,000, for people already working in the trade who need certification that matches their skill.

Single payment. Materials, the certification fee, the international documentation package and lifetime alumni access are all included. No extras at any stage.

Where you train

Our centre is at 127 Igwuruta Road, Atali, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Walk in any weekday between 9am and 4pm. No appointment. Bring somebody with you if you want, and see the workshop before you pay anybody anything.
