Tiling is the finish everybody sees. A crooked line or a lifted tile is visible for the life of the building, which is why good tilers are booked out and bad ones work once per client.

The skill is in the preparation. Most tiling failures were decided before the first tile went down.

Certification

ServHub Training is accredited by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment to conduct trade test examinations, and we examine on site. You train here and you test here.

In the Ministry trade categories this course sits under Bricklaying, Blocklaying and Concreting. That is the category your certificate will name.

Tiling and screeding fall within the building trade categories. Ask us which category your certificate will name.

Certificates are issued at one of three grades:

Grade III, the entry level, for people starting out or newly trained
Grade II, intermediate, for people with working experience behind them
Grade I, advanced, for experienced tradesmen

Which one you sit depends on your trade and how long you have worked in it. Tell us and we will assess it honestly, including if the answer is a lower grade than you hoped.

Programmes and cost

Foundation, N90,000, 90 days, for people starting with no formal training. Around 60 per cent of our students start from zero.
Advanced, N120,000, for people already working in the trade who need certification that matches their skill.

Single payment. Materials, the certification fee, the international documentation package and lifetime alumni access are all included. No extras at any stage.

Where you train

Our centre is at 127 Igwuruta Road, Atali, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Walk in any weekday between 9am and 4pm. No appointment. Bring somebody with you if you want, and see the workshop before you pay anybody anything.
